Seniors’ Month 2024

Seniors’ Month 2024

June is Seniors’ Month, a time to recognize the hard work seniors have done all their lives to make Ontario the great place it is today. The County of Lambton Long-Term Care Division strives to provide opportunities for older adults to stay socially connected and engaged in their communities. Staff at The Lodge, The Villa, The Manor, and the Adult Day Programs, organize various activities and special events to help recognize and celebrate Seniors’ Month. We encourage everyone to check out our Facebook and Instagram posts during June to see some of the fun and engaging activities going on.

The Long-Term Care Division also offers several fulfilling volunteer opportunities for people, including seniors. There are many benefits to the Homes and Adult Day Programs, as well as to the volunteers. Volunteering helps seniors stay active and connected to their communities, maintaining social contacts, and promoting a sense of value and self-worth. It can help reduce loneliness, lead to a sense of belonging and provide opportunities to gain new skills and experiences. Seniors make up a large percentage of volunteers and are a staple in our organization. They add significant value with their wealth of experience and insights.

Seniors’ Month is a great opportunity to thank a senior in your life and show them just how much they are appreciated. For those seniors living in the Homes, participating in the Adult Day Program, working, volunteering, or visiting with us, thank you for all your hard work and contributions and for sharing your skills and talents with us.
